Such a lovely restaurant. We shared the seafood platter on Christmas Eve and it was amazing. Staff are always lovely and the food is always fantastic. We will re-visit The Boat House many times.

Perfection! We’ve drooled in the window at this place quite often and finally tried today. What an experience! After a half of Wylam Hickey the Rake (just one of the great local beers on draught) while we pondered the extensive menu we opted for a couple of lindisfarne oysters (huge and so fresh), langoustines and scallops to start and the halibut and stone bass mains. The food was all superb and we washed it down with excellent languedoc wine. (The drinks menu is as good as the food!) We even made room for dessert! The service charge was added but optional (just to correct one review on here) and I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to tip the lovely friendly people who work here. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed with beautiful sea views. What a gem! I highly recommend to any seafood lovers and can’t wait to go back.

Location is perfect, right by the harbour, restaurant is lovely, a real picturesque venue and setting. We sat outside and were very happy with that, comfortable tables and benches, and you can watch the harbour village businesses and visitors. Food was a disappointment, especially considering the huge cost. I had the cod and chips, fish was lovely, the chips, though, were disappointing. The skin on chips were wet, a little chewy, and just not pleasant. Definitely not sea side, proper chips, that we know so well (you know, a bit of crunch on the outside, fluffy inside). Annoyingly, the service charge was automatically included. For our family of 4, it cost £84+. For, essentially, fish and chips for 2 adults and 2 kids meals, with a few drinks (non alcoholic). Toilets are very smart and clean. Parking is on the main street or the long stay car park nearby. Service was spot on. Based on the food experience against cost and the resulting question... would we return? No, because I might have paid a lot less for better chips down the road.

"It's not a chip shop!" -exclaimed the waitress! 😂 This is a great harbour-front restaurant in a real prime location! We went for a spot of lunch and had the Smoked Cod Soup and Cod and Chips. The quality of the food was really good, although a portion of gravy would have been done the job for me! Portion sizes were ample and the good prices, too! I'd definitely recommend this place!

Perfect place! Very friendly staff, quick service, delicious food. A bit pricey, but it worth! I’ve tried langoustines, and tried small portion, but it was like a main dish! Bread - delicious. Fish- perfect. It’s the first place when I ate whole this kind of salad ‘cause the souse wasn’t sour like it’s everywhere! That mayo was perfect for the prawns.
