"The Beresford arms, Your home from home."

Whalton is a picturesque village 6 miles west of Morpeth in the heart of the Northumberland countryside. The Beresford Arms sits proudly in the heart of the village just off the village green and has been a prominent figure serving the local community since at least 1891. The décor of the main pub is very much in keeping with its age, stone painted walls, exposed beams and heavy wooden furniture reminds us of the history and memories this building exudes, not forgetting our iconic tartan carpet that runs throughout the ground floor.

The pub is around 10miles from Morpeth and serves food 6 days a week. Good choice of tasty 'classic' and main courses to choose from, and Aspall cider on draft. Currently 50% off mains (Jan 2024).

The pub has a great selection of beers, very good food and a friendly, warm atmosphere. Especially good value this January and February as main courses are on at half price! The Cottage Pie was delicious.

Situated a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Morpeth, the Beresford enjoys a tranquil setting in the village of Whalton. Parking is no problem with a large car park and the pub has recently been tastefully refurbished. A group of us had lunch here yesterday. The food was perfectly cooked and well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

First time back at the Beresford in 14 years, for a festive lunch with my Dad, and we LOVE this place. Fabulous menu, the food is out of this world delicious, and the setting a perfect blend of modern comfort in a very lovely, traditional country pub. I love the family run feel, and the historical local photos on the walls. Its so accessible too, with enough space - you dont feel like tables are crammed together. Our new local and I will definitely encourage gatherings with my family and friends.

We have eaten Sunday dinner several times over the last 6 months and have to say I rate it as one of the best in the area, if not THE best! We haven't had a bad bite and this includes feeding three generations! Have attached a picture of my pork belly from Sunday, we also ordered the cauliflower cheese side which is just *chefs kiss*. Staff are always attentive and the fab online booking system is super easy to use. We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.
