About us

The Angel Inn, dating back to 1569, is a traditional inn with a busy public bar, a warm and cosy lounge with real log fire, a private dining room, a stunning large restaurant, beautiful bedrooms, a self contained apartment and an award winning fish and chip takeaway.

Open all day, every day, you will be greeted with a true warm Northumbrian welcome, with friendly staff who will attend to your every need. The bar is and always will be the heart of The Angel. A place to eat, drink and be merry. The all-day food menu is local, hearty, great 'pub' grub enhanced with daily chef specials with a nice wine list, whisky choice and selection of local cask ales.

The lounge has a real log fire, leather armchairs and a traditional feel of an old hotel lounge. It is a great place to start the day with an early morning coffee or end the day with a glass of red wine and a book.

The Barn Restaurant is a hidden gem. Serving a £10 two course lunch (Mon-Fri) and early evening two course menu (Mon-Thurs), alongside the delicious local seasonal full menu, it really does have something for everyone.

Located in the centre of Corbridge, The Angel is perfectly located for a spot of retail therapy in the town's local independent shops, a cycle along Route 72 (which passes the door), exploring Hadrian's Wall and venturing up in to the National Park to observe some of the Darkest Skies in the World. It is a 10 minute walk from Corbridge Train Station, and has a bus stop outside.

Popped in while waiting for the bus back to Newcastle, 4 ales on really good pub /restaurant. Most people were in for the food, which was quite busy because it was only early afternoon. But well worth a visit if you are in the area

Comfortable, characterful hotel serving a good range of drinks and meals. We enjoyed our short stay and as before, really loved eating at The Angel. Meals are all freshly prepared and offer good value for money. Controlled car parking available at rear on building (simply enter your vehicle details at reception).

I visited here to have lunch. The menu provided all good comfort classics which you hope to expect from pub food. The sizes of the meat and fish were larger than expected, but welcomed. A lovely relaxed environment inside with limited parking onsite.

We stay here whenever we are visiting family in Corbridge so the location could not be better! The rooms are well appointed and included a full breakfast which was lovely. The restaurant is very good and we had a fabulous meal here. It is our first choice for Corbridge!

We went for a family meal on a Sunday evening. The lounge with wood panelling is pleasant and service was good. The food was disappointing overall. The meat eaters said flavour was lacking. So did the vegetarian Wellington, which was also too soft. Vegetables and chips passable.
