Popped in here for a drink. Bearing in mind, it's the end of November. Place was about the most empty of other pubs, so you'd think they'd be a bit more welcoming. Then the price hit me. £18.60 for a double vodka and a single gin and tonic. £8.50 @ one pub , £13 @ the pub next door, and both had customers and atmosphere. Service was quick 🤣
great pub. very quiet sunday when we went, but barman was very friendly. nice selection of beers. didn't try food but may do next time.
Stopped for something to eat. Bench and table sticky. Food - fish was nice, chips not nice, peas hard and obviously tinned. Went to loo....dirty toilet paper over the sink, hand drier not working. Definitely won't be back
This will be the only review where I say I regretted buying chips ;) not because they weren't anything but lovely. We ordered a sandwich with salad an coleslaw each, and thought it has been a long day so ordered those chips to stop us feeling hungry. The salad was generous, so was the coleslaw portion and the sandwich was delicious the chips were lovely but we didn't need them because of the generous portions. The team were brilliant, go there for food any day that we aren't in Whitby, when we are keep away because we want a table :D
Great pub to grab a bite to eat and a drink at the bottom of Whitby Abbey steps. Friendly helpful staff, good selection of drinks and great food. Good view of the harbour also if sat in the back of the pub. Pet friendly.
