Went in expecting a Sunday lunch as it was Sunday, was greeted with we have no Sunday lunch. Was going to leave but had already ordered a drink . Sat down looked at the menu ordered fish and chips. Approx 5 minutes later someone came out and told me we’ve no fish. I was starving at this point. Ordered Scampi and Chips . It came in a basket with salad on a plate. The chips were absolutely disgusting 🤮 like they’d been cooked in dirty fat. The lady asked if everything is ok I said “No” . That was it she walked off. I finished my scampi and left “ hungry”
Nice Christmas dinner, did the job. Staff very friendly, they were short staffed and didn't let this lower the customer service. Had run out of some drinks as had been very busy, but not the end of the world, still had a good selection. Would go again.
Went for an evening meal. Place clean menu average ordered gammon and a curry. Meals placed in front of us cutlery followed worst chips ever had really brown and soggy as if cooked hours ago and left. Curry was such a small portion filled half of small wok it came with chips rice mango and nan. Wondered why mango as no popadom. Mushrooms not cooked dry and raw on gammon. Was not happy chef kept coming out of kitchen and chatting to bar staff.
It's wonderful to see the pub open again and under a lovely welcoming staff. The only thing that upset me was the Christmas decorations before honouring our Veterans who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. I will definitely be a regular customer.
As it has just opened again, it's early days but staff great, friendly. It has been decorated out very tastefully. Highly recommend a visit, good beer choice and will soon be offering food, the sample menu looks good. I wish them good luck, will definitely be visiting again.
