About us

The Brassmill played an integral part in the development of the brass manufacturing industry in Britain. By adapting Dutch techniques, Abraham Darby set up the first brass mills in Keynsham around 1706. The final brass battery pans ever made in Britain were produced here in June 1927. Now a pub-restaurant, we maintain the name as a sign of our heritage.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Sometimes when I’ve eaten out in the past at other restaurants, the tables can be really squashed together and it makes private conversations with family members more difficult. However, at the brass mill, I appreciated the fact that tables are very well spaced out. It seems like a small thing, but it makes the experience a million times better.

I have been here several tines before and the food and service has always been positive. The sticky toffee pudding is great, as is the lasagne. On this visit I tried the chicken and vegetable penang curry, which was nice except the rice which was very much one solid. Others I have been with have enjoyed the hunters chicken and the chicken and pancetta pie. Note, the price of £20-30pp was including use of one of their semi frequent promotions, in this case 50% off of main courses.

First time at The Brassmill, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit! I've just read reviews and had I read them beforehand, I wouldn't have gone! The pub is lovely, traditional and warm. Our waitress Chrissy was so lovely and tentative, she made a us feel so welcome. I chose Calamari for starters, unfortunately it had ran out, but not a problem as there was plenty alternatives. I ordered fish and chips for main which was absolutely delicious and I had the crumble with ice-cream for dessert. I really enjoyed my food and my whole experience there was great. I will definitely go back 😄

Such a huge disappointment today. The Brassmill was always our 'go to' place for a really nice meal. Today was awful. We were told when we arrived that food was going to take about 35 to 40 mins... But after a hour we had to chase our food. I ordered the fish finger sandwich with fries... Absolutely disgusting... Fries were stone cold... And the fish was just tail ends... Hardly any fish and inedible. Really not nice. We tried to catch the attention of a member of staff, but it seemed once our food had been delivered they weren't interested anymore. We had already paid at the time of ordering so we just left... Still hungry and hugely disappointed that we've had such a poor experience at our favourite restaurant. We won't be returning sadly.
