Very highly recommended; popped out for a late lunch with my partner and it really didn't dissapoint. Just a 15 minute drive away with many of our locals not serving food at that time in the day. Brilliant food, beaut pint of Guinness (so I've been told), wonderful and friendly staff, cosy (especially next to the log fire) with a good atmosphere. We had a nosey around after the meal, there is also garden room and pub garden which we will take advantage of on another occasion whilst it appears they have a street food pop up on certain days. Whilst this wont be the cheapest pub you go to, it won't disappoint.
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. I tried the scotch egg which was so light, guinea fowl ravioli- it was divine.
Beautiful setting ,excellent staff, huge portions . A roaring fire to sit by , hot fresh food that was delicious . Ideal for friends / couples / families . A little gem not to be missed !
I ordered the steak and ale pie as it was a bitterly cold day and I wanted comfort food. It came on a large helping of mashed potatoes, no other vegetables. When I cut into the pie I had 2 pieces of meat, the rest of the filling was potato. The 2 bits of meat were tender, the pastry was nice but it could have been so much better. It was my fault I ordered the wrong thing and I definitely wouldn't recommend it, my friends meals looked lovely and were tasty.
We recently stayed in a holiday rental in the village as a family group of 8 including 2 kids. We ate here twice, once from the main menu, and once from the special curry night. Food was excellent both evenings. Curry was way better than Indian restaurant fare and the other food was great too with ample provision for vegan and gluten free diners. Service was extremely friendly but unobtrusive. This pub is doing everything right and I wish you all the success you so richly deserve.
