A wonderful staff who makes you feel like you're at home. The rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are modern. Food is outstanding. I will be back for sure!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary, staying for couple nights, the hotel is in perfect location beautiful garden and dogs friendly. The atmosphere was amazing, very friendly and customer service was excellent π We enjoyed our delicious breakfast and also the dinner was delightful πTop marks to the chef!π
Excellent customer service delivered by all the staff. We had a very spacious room with a large bathroom, very clean & tidy. Only criticism was that Moorland cooked breakfast could have been a bit more generous. 1 small Sausage, 1 small piece of bacon and shot measure of baked beans βΉοΈ. The evening meals however were excellent π Overall well worth a visit π
This hotel is set in a wonderful location for exploring Dartmoor. Access to the moor is directly opposite the hotel entrance and Haytor Rocks are visible from here. It is also a very good Dark Skies area. The rooms in the hotel are cosy and comfortable, albeit a bit stuffy on a hot day. The food in the restaurant is excellent, although service can be a bit slow during busy periods. The staff do try their best though and they are very polite and helpful. A couple of things I will say about Dartmoor, plan your trip well. Attractions can get very busy and parking can be at a premium. It is always advisable to book in advance if going out to eat as eating places can get very busy. Lastly, be cautious when driving around. The roads can be tight, bendy and hilly and the local drivers seem less than considerate when it comes to space. Keep to the speed limits and donβt take unnecessary risks.
We recently had a two night stay with our dog. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. The room we had was very comfortable and clean. The patio doors out onto the lawn were a great plus as we could sit out in the morning with our cup of tea and admire the lovely gardens and the great view. The food in the restaurant was nicely cooked and well presented. The breakfast in the morning had plenty of choice. Finally I must commend all of the staff that we came in contact with. From the gardener who stopped for a chat on our arrival, Victoria in reception and all of the restaurant staff who were great. Our dog Skye certainly enjoyed all the fuss and treats given to her. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this wonderful hotel
