Sen. Say. Shon. Nal!!!!!! Every mouthful was a delight, and every mouthful was a connection to the earth. The menu has something for everyone with great meat, pesce, veggie and vegan options. The wood fires give the god an incredible rich and deep flavour. Very very dog friendly (it seemed like most tables had a dog, and they provided blankets and dog bowls for all). The tableware was also stunning and the staff friendly and attentive. This is the kind of place you dream to go back to.

We stopped by for lunch after a rainy walk. We were warmly welcomed, dogs got a blanket and a water bowl. Service was friendly and attentive, food was absolutely delicious. Stunning flavour combinations and textures. The atmosphere was cozy with a nice buzz. Would definitely recommend.

The Moorcock is one of a kind, a unique dining experience where the chef creates dishes from his own imagination. He uses ingredients grown in his own kitchen garden, foraged locally or supplied by very local farmers; and there's a lot of pickling, preserving, smoking and BBQ. The bar has a wide range of craft beers (again mostly local but some from further afield including Belgium), a selection of sake, and a very interesting wine list. Everything we ordered with delicious in its own way, and we just have to come back several times to taste the rest of the menu. Very highly recommended!

First of what will be many trips here no doubt! Couldn't fault any of the food in the slightest - easily the best trout I've ever eaten, somehow beating out the best steak pie I've had! Thoughtful service and excellent wine selection to boot

(Feb 2022) Booking a table was easy. First time here. Plenty parking and lovely venue in the moorland. The menu and dishes are phenomenal. Wide variety of beers and wine. Superb service and very attentive staff. The price was reasonable too. My only reason for not scoring 5 stars was that there was no menu for children; however, I accept that it is a gastropub and that it wants to serve fine cuisine, which is a fabulous vision for the local area, as I think the quality of food and style served here is really lacking in the area. Will go again in the future - with no kids - and update my review. It’s a must visit…
