James was absolutely AMAZING! I brought my boyfriend to the mitre for a few drinks, and now it’s our FAVOURITE pub! We had some gorgeous roast potatoes and amazing Yorkshire puddings. And James brought it all out in the most gorgeous way! Such an amazing waiter, made our night so special! Will DEFINITELY be coming back to the mitre!
We booked the Mitre for my husbands birthday lunch after we had visited for a pint on the way back to the station as we were impressed with the warm friendly atmosphere. We were greeted by extremely friendly and helpful staff and had a delicious selection of 3 plates and a nice bottle of wine. the food and drink selection was great but not overwhelming. They are extremely dog friendly and brought over a bowl of water for our old girl and fussed her with some treats. There is plenty of room between tables so dogs don't disturb other tables. We had a super time, thank you :)
Served raw chicken (pink and slimey). When I gave it back to the waitress they said someone would come back but no one came to the table. When I went to the bar to ask the supervisor if someone was going to see us, she was rude, unapologetic, had an attitude and said it isn’t possible to be raw as they buy their chicken already cooked. She also assumed I wanted a refund straight away. This wasn’t the case as I just wanted an explanation as no one had come back to my table. Why as a supervisor the first thing you say is “you can’t have a refund” instead of an apology? As you can see from the other reviews, this isn’t the first case of raw food being served and there have been similar experiences about poor service. Please train your staff on how to be polite and treat customers. I will never come back. Additional comment: I am writing in response to the company. I did indeed have a chicken thigh which I asked for a take away box for. Since they did not have a box, I decided to eat the chicken thigh and it was then which my friend noticed the thigh was raw. So regardless if I ate the food, this does not dismiss the fact I noticed the meat was raw. If the situation was handled with empathy I would not have to write a long review.
We came for dinner on our last Friday night in London, and overall, it was good. The online menu had a ribeye listed, but on the actual, current menu, it was a smaller top sirloin. Fine, but not as good. Also ordered a chicken leek pie and a chicken schnitzel. All were good. Not amazing, but good.
A warm friendly greeting when we arrived, easy check in , spacious clean room with fantastic bathroom and powerful shower. Decided to stay for lunch and glad we did as it was a great meal. The breakfast in the morning was a great treat again! 10/10 all day long for me! Will stay again!

The Mitre has a predominantly British menu with some international influences also. Our menus cater for our locals, those passing by and tourists and our Fish & Chips along with other traditional fayre is amongst the best in the area along with a fantastic range of 20 bottled local and international beers, what more could you want! Alongside the pub is O’sullivans bar which serves an array of Irish dishes including Bacon Chops, Colcannon with parsley sauce, all washed down with a pint of cold Guinness.
