We had a brilliant Sunday roast. They were really busy but nothing was too much trouble. We were served by Alex and Molly who were very friendly and attentive, they worked so hard!
Hadn’t been for a while so decided to give it a go as the meals especially the fish and chips I remember were very good with decent size servings. What a disappointment tonight. Thin small piece of fish in an anaemic batter and a scattering of chips. It made a child’s portion look big. Overall taste was quite bland and I couldn’t really be bothered to eat it. Other meals in the group were a bit better but most of us agreed it was nothing to recommend a revisit. Thought I’d at least finish with a nice latte which was so bitter I couldn’t even drink it. All in a poor night. It may be a while before I risk this again.
Lovely environment, clean and tidy everywhere and rooms are very cosy. The stay here has been exceptional and with the whole place decorated for Christmas throughout it is lovely and a big hit with my son. The food has been amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend visiting here for either a stay or to dine. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I can't say anything about the hotel rooms as we only stopped for a week day lunch. Everything at The millers is ok, not sparkling but ok. Clean and tastefully decorated. Service we experienced was good, indeed above average and very attentive to our needs. Where they lost out was with the food. Not the quality or the cooking which both were good but it's with the quantity, the portion sizes for the price were disappointing. We all agreed that the small portion sizes made the meal too expensive for what we got and we won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Have stayed here twice now, first time food was good, rooms were clean and comfortable, road was noisy from early hours. However stayed here last night, my bath had loads of hairs in, looked unwashed! Complained and someone did come to clean straight away. The food was average nothing special in our opinion for what your paying for… Our rooms faced the road again and seemed to be worse, disrupted sleep all night (the beds are comfortable) May be different if your room faces the back or if your a deep sleeper. Can’t fault the staff, more than happy to help. Shame the standards have dropped as it was an ideal spot for us when working away and has a suitable car park for our work van.
