About us

Mill Hill was a small village some 10 miles to the north west of London. A group of ex-servicemen at that time members of the British Legion decided to form a Club where they could meet any day of the week. Major B. B. Wills of the well known tobacco company family was Chairman in 1923 and it was in 1926 that the Club building was erected in what was later to become Hartley Avenue. The Club logo derives from the Wills family crest.

In May 1927 the Club became affiliated to the Club & Institute Union and history has shown this to have been a worthwhile asset in navigating the many rules and laws that have arisen over the years.

The Club continues to be buoyant and is held in high esteem. In a changing world it provides a haven of purpose and contentedness.

The Club is kept in good condition and up to modern standards, indeed it has recently been refurbished.
