My friend, brother and I went today (Friday 1st December 2023) had the worst service I could imagine. Was told to move table 2 times. When wanting to order we had to wait so long for someone to come because staff were too busy chit chatting. When we asked to pay the bill they said oh you have to come to the counter like seriously what type of service is this. I’m sorry but I’m not complaining about the food as it was lovely but the service was horrendous.
If you a quality Indian dinner then this is the place.. the new owners have been there now for 3 years and the best improvement has been the quality of the food.. Hands down better than the competition, don’t waste your time at spice rack, Everest or Abercorn.
Tucked away on the Edgware high street, Zanzibar is like a magical tent from a Harry Potter movie: you can’t make out how roomy and lovely it is inside unless you have stepped in! Great interiors and an amazing menu, prompt service and courteous service makes this restaurant a 5 star review restaurant from my end! I will definitely be back for more!
Food was excellent - esp the chilli garlic naan, the mango lassi and the Rosey lips mocktail (lychee and rose). However the service was incredibly poor. We stood for a long while, until I eventually just went up to the bar to request a table for us to sit at. Then again it was a long wait to order the drinks and food. It was the closest I've ever been to ask them to take the service charge off. Maybe we came on an off day. But the food was good, so give it a go and hope for the best.
Great indian restaurant food tasted good and better than I expected. We got 3 chicken tikka biriyanis, 3 garlic naans and 1 plate of chips. We also got 3 mocktails and a coke. Service was good lively restaurant quite spacious, there was a birthday party going on and bar seemed very busy but we were fine got a big enough table for 3 adults and 2 kids.
