About us

The Malthouse, formally Famous George, located in the square, is one of the oldest pubs in Seaton, but has been extensively modernised in recent years. It has recently changed to focus more on food, including roast dinners on Sundays and at other times during the week. Two real ales are often on offer. Satellite sports TV, pool, darts and occasional live music feature. There is an outside area on the other side of the road.

The Malt House is in the pretty and popular seaside resort of Seaton, on the Devon/Dorset border and close to beach.

We would like to welcome all customers old and new and will be offering great service, fabulous food - served daily, quality real ales and a selection of fine wines.

The food was good but disappointed in the service. Seems at the moment having many issues with the pub but we were given a dirty cup in which did get changed. Seemed a little slow service side and was an ok atmosphere. Was ok value for money.

Just had delicious cod and chips, generous portions, freshly cooked and good service. Nice big dog friendly pub with plenty of seating.

Stayed at Seaton overnight on Sunday evening. The Malt House was one of the very few pubs or restaurants open. We had a lovely meal here. Food was tasty and well presented. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly. There was a steady flow of customers.

Friendly pub and restaurant. Clean, wooden tables, and olden photos on the wall. Cozy corner tables. Friendly staff members. Fresh food - fish and chips, and Sunday roast dinner. Local ice cream for pudding. Clean toilets. Good for family - plenty of space for strollers

Looks a lovely pub from the outside and the same can be said about inside too. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. For a 3 course meal and drinks the price was good too. I'll definitely return in the future next time I'm around that way.
