The Lugger is a 17th century well regarded pub that is located in the very centre of Fowey and benefits from having a central bar servery which all but over-looks the entire pub.
The Lugger is a very traditional pub in look and feel and is decorated throughout the trading area with bric-a-brac that pertains to the seafaring way of life.
Cleanest room and bathroom I've seen outside my own home! Brilliant! Bed and pillows to die for. Haven't slept so well in a long time. Dinner was superb. We shared a bowl of muscles, yum! I then had the belly pork. Almost lost for words. I love belly pork, often my choice, this was the best. Sylv, who works here,lovely lady and very helpful,nothing too much trouble. The landlord, characterful! Cracking bloke, really interesting life. Take the time to chat to him. The worst thing you can do coming to fowey, is to walk past the Lugger
Sunday roast here was fabulous. Very generous portions, extremely tasty and excellent value. Really enjoyed our lunch here. Highly recommended.
Great place. Lovely food, generous portions - mussels we're amazing! Starters also very tasty. Just what we needed after a day walking the coastal path.
Went to the lugger last week for a meal with a large group of us, service was outstanding the guy behind the bar was absolutely excellent. Unfortunately we'd ordered a few steaks within our party and these were overcooked but all the other food was excellent and the owner was super understanding. The garlic bread here is incredible!!!!!
Nice pub with a good range of local ales plenty of seating and friendly staff Menu is a bit limited as seems to be the norm in fowey, my wife had the belly pork which looked amazing and she really enjoyed it, especially with the crackling, a really nice touch! I had the fish pie and was underwhelmed very little fish and a very small portion for the price just lots of potato and brie so two very different experiences. I would definitely go again for drinks
