The dinner at Station Road Restaurant was an incredible experience. The tasting menu was excellent and a special culinary experience with local fresh ingredients and amazing flavor nuances. One of the best restaurants during our trip through Scotland. You can tell that the chef has ambitions for a Michelin star - in our opinion rightly so and fully deserved!!! The wine list is also very good, the specialization in UK wines is interesting , a new experience for us! The staff were also excellent, exceptionally friendly and very professional. We highly recommend a visit! Thank you for a fantastic evening! We can't say anything about the hotel, but the dining and living room are cozy and beautiful furnished. We would definitely stay here next time.
We loved our stay at The Lovat Hotel. It is such a beautiful location, and the hotel felt more like a home, with its warmly decorated guest areas and spacious, well-appointed rooms. Each morning, I'd take my tea downstairs to enjoy the sun coming up through the large picture window. It felt cozy, like being in a lovely country home of good friends. The staff were incredible! So accommodating and professional. We had tasty breakfasts each morning in the dining room and couldn't be happier. The food was delicious, and I loved that they offered kombucha as an alternative to juice. The porridge with the berry compote was my favorite. On our final evening, we had a special dinner hosted by our hiking tour group. It was a delicious meal, and the presentation was beautiful. We ended our day with a dram of whisky each night, relaxing by the fireplace. It was indeed one of my best vacations, and the staff at The Lovat made it extra special.
Stayed here as part of walking the Great Glen Way. We were in one of the garden rooms, which is separate to the hotel. The room was very comfortable, with a lovely selection of tea, coffee etc. Really appreciated the attention and kindness from staff as my friend was unwell and they were able to get us into our room earlier than they normally would have been able to. The restaurant is fantastic - I would happily have had the bannock for each course…would definitely stay and eat here again.
Station Road Restaurant was an incredible experience. The tasting menu was delicious and paid incredible attention to every small detail - it really showed off the amazing ingredients that Scotland has to offer. The staff was excellent as well - the service made us feel like we were the only people at the restaurant! We left full and incredibly satisfied. The location is an easy walk if you are staying elsewhere in town, like we were. This dining experience is a must, unlike anything else we had while traveling around the Highlands.
Restaurant Only: We had the tasting menu for a special occasion for six and it was absolutely superb. As another reviewer said, this is the gold standard of degustation for us. Every dish was full of fascinating flavours, local ingredients and was impeccably presented. The service was faultless and friendly with all staff knowledgeable and focused on us. It is very expensive but will stay long in our memories.
