About us

For most of its history it has been known as The Globe and can be dated back to Cheshire records of the 1630s. Of the many historic landlords the most colourful and still well remembered was Brian "Rusty" Williams, the licensee from 1977-89, who renamed it The Morris Dancer in 1980. "Rusty" brought the annual Cheshire Folk Festival to Kelsall, reverting back to the classic traditions that once surrounded Inns, a tradition that is still upheld today.

You will find a large bar at the heart of the pub, stocked with local ales and a myriad of delights to take your fancy. There is a large, bright, high ceiling roomed to the rear, leading out onto our terrace and a small, cosy beamed bar room to the other side of the pub, so you can choose to sit wherever your mood takes you.

We have a Private Dining room that will happily seat sixteen in comfort, perfect for business meetings or for those cosy occasions when you want to be all together as a family or with friends.

If you love a raoring fire in the winter, then this is the place for you. The food is excellent, and the service comes with a smile. Can't recommend highly enough for a casual meal, coffee, or a pint!

Always buzzing here, never quiet, but never mad busy. Staff are lovely and very attentive and generally very friendly, with excellent food service, a tasty menu and lots of good whiskey choice too. Indoors and outdoors are terrific, and at any time of year, this is worth a visit.

A lovely gastropub with great food, like most of the Brinning and Price chain. It's a characterful and cosy building and has some really good veggie and vegan options as well as the usual traditional roasts etc. Service was efficient and we left full, owing to the generous portion sizes.

Very busy and very lively. They are getting it right. Varied age groups, some eating, some drinking or both. Smiley staff. We go for coffee midweek and dinner from time to time. Like the log of miles for the Ales. Recommended

Lovely food and surroundings. Staff were lovely too. Very pretty garden. A little pricey but worth it. Overall great pub, would definitely go again.
