About us

On the corner of Great Queen Street and Drury Lane sits this handsome Victorian pub. It was first established in 1850 and then rebuilt in early 20th Century, when the street was widened. Around this time the area was becoming more popular due to the theatres and the grand Royal Opera House, which is just a short walk from the Prince of Wales, down Drury Lane.

Today Covent Garden is famous for being the entertainment hub of London. It has almost 40 theatres across the West End and holds a multitude of attractions for tourists, including market stalls, street entertainers and open air cafes.

The Prince of Wales is the ideal place to for some wonderful traditional pub food in a welcoming and comfy environment. The Prince of Wales also offers a wide range of cask ales and wines, the perfect traditional British pub experience.

Was good for a quick bite. Unfortunately, i left disappointed. Service was ok. It just took really long. The burger tasted great.

I went in with a friend, my first time in this pub. The atmosphere was very cozy and the Christmas lights made it even better! The staff was so nice and friendly! The food was amazing, we ordered nachos and chicken wings with spicy sauce... We didn't expect a portion this big for either of them! The wings were really good, not as spicy as I expected but still really juicy! We ordered two cheese and bacon burgers as well (just didn't take a picture because....hungry) and it was maybe a bit on the dry side, but really tasty nonetheless. The house fries with salt flakes and rosemary were amazing and the onion rings were light and crispy! Overall 10/10! Ah, the mulled wine is a must! An absolute must. I did burn my tongue on the first sip lol but the blend of spices was well balanced and it went down like water after I let it cool down a bit. (Big shout out to Jess who kept my friend's book after he forgot it on the sofa. We came back to look for it after a few minutes and she recognised us the moment we went through the door and brought us the bag! Thank you so much, you're a star!!)

Went for a few drinks after work with some work friends! Had Vodka Soda and was reasonably priced! Love the lights at the bar and the whole vibe it gives ☺️ A great place to have a drink or two with some mates 🙌🏻

Absolutely fabulous... Fancied a lovely meal before a matinee theatre performance... and we certainly got that here. Spacious and bright inside.. Attentive, polite and friendly staff. Great service and Great food. Unfortunately, a number of the main meals contained onion, inc. BBQ Chicken, Steak & Ale Pie and even the meat within the Cheese & Bacon Burger... However the staff were ever so accommodating; and amended my meal for me. (Thank you.) We ordered the Katsu Chicken Burger and 'Buttermilk Chicken replacement' in the Cheese & Bacon Burger.. Both meals for great.. the chips amazing. Totally recommend this place and we will certainly return when in the area.
