Historic Mayfair pub serving award winning pies and the finest dry-aged, grass fed, British beef.
The Guinea is a Mayfair institution; there’s been an Inn on this site since 1423. Our restaurant, the Guinea Grill opened in 1952. We specialise in serving dry aged, grass fed British beef from an open grill. You’ll find a selection of Young’s Ales at the bar and our atmospheric private dining room is perfect for up to 28 people.
We’re ideally located just a short walk away from Green Park, Bond Street and Oxford Circus tube stations.
We decided to have Christmas lunch out this year and overall this was a very positive experience. The service was very friendly. The turkey Christmas dinner with all the trimmings was delicious. They oyster was delicious although felt a bit mean that there was only one given the cost of the meal. Salmon was really nice too. We enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding but the Christmas pudding less. The mince pies at the end were disappointing. The room we were in only had a few tables and we felt the atmosphere was lacking a bit vs. The Christmas Day vibes we were expecting.
Consistently amazing 👌🏼 delicious steak, wine list to die for, attentive and friendly service - plus the Guinness really is the best in London (imho). Highly recommend & will be back for visit #4 very soon.
Fantastic steak choices perfectly cooked! The Guinness was also next level. The service was also spot on. Not cheap but definitely recommend for a nice treat.
5/5 steak! amazing atmosphere, with very old school vibes - from the restaurant itself to the staff. half pub and half restaurant, the food was delicious, would definitely recommend sharing a steak with the sides! make a reservation!
Had built up high expectations for the Guinea and took a friend for a celebratory dinner. Was not at all disappointed - this one of the best dinner experiences I’ve had in a very long time. From the entry greeting to the incredibly professional and jocular staff, the hospitality was top notch. The food was tremendous and nice to see an offering of traditional classics such as kidneys, liver and haggis. All of them were fantastic accompaniments to the Cote d’Boeuf, which was cooked to perfection. The pace of the meal was exactly as hoped - not rushed or too slow. The atmosphere was unique and comfortable. Truly, this was an excellent experience - easily the best steak I’ve had in London and one of the best I’ve had globally (I’m fortunate to have tried many of the top places in the USA). Not inexpensive but worth every pound. Book with confidence.
