About us

Upstairs at the Ten Bells there is now a restaurant based above the historic Spitalfields pub serving modern British, seasonal food. Initially started as a temporary, 3 month project by the Young Turks & The Clove Club, it received an overwhelming response and now returns as a different guise.

Three of the original line up – Young Turk Isaac Mchale with Daniel Willis and Johnny Smith of The Clove Club will be in charge of a new, young team of Chefs and front of house staff. Giorgio Ravelli will be Head Chef running the kitchen day to day with Isaac overseeing a brand new al a carte menu.

What a great place to stop and have a drink while taking a self guided walking tour of street art in the area. I love that you can enjoy a beer on the streetside.

I accidentally posted this review for a different pub 😅 Fantastic 30th birthday for my boy Ben. He was quite surprised to see us all with masks of his face on. Brilliant night out. I also saw some amazing deal that read something along the lines of "book the venue for £250, but if a certain amount is spent behind the bar then another £100 is given back, fantastic incentive, and we definitely made sure to spend over the amount 😉

Great and historic East End pub - spectacular vintage interior tiling! The best location for Brick Lane eateries, and Spitalfields/ Petticoat Lane markets. The Old Thumper real ale was fabulous.

Great pub! It has historical significance being the pub at least two, possibly all, of the victims of Jack the Ripper were patrons at this establishment. The interior is really beautiful. They have a second floor and have a weekly quiz night. They have an outdoor area with tables and shelves so you can hang out outdoors and have a cigarette or vape. The staff were extremely friendly here. It is very clean and has a really great vibe. The restrooms, which are downstairs, are clean and some of the fixtures look like they are from days of old. Be careful on the stairs as they are narrow and go down in a spiral. There is a handrail to hang on to should you need it. They have a bank of phone chargers downstairs on the level of the restrooms that you can rent for £1.99 for 10 minutes if the battery on your phone needs a boost. They did have some brands of beverage out of stock, but that could be down to popularity; but that's okay because it offers the chance to try something different that you may not have tried before. The blackberry cider and ginger beer were really delicious and hit the spot. We went in the early afternoon which afforded feeat opportunities to take photos. The staff is okay with taking as many pictures as you like. The pub starts to fill up around 4:30. I highly recommend stopping in for a pint (or two!) if you find yourself in the East End of London.

We've been there doing our Jack the ripper tour. We actually expected a better ambience but the pub was super crowded and really plain as a service. Since the ground floor was very noisy with a very bad music we visited the upstairs bar, which was much better. Cocktails are really expensive, but it's London and the pub is famous, so, fair enough. Just a little bit more of Jack the ripper atmosphere. Shame they didn't had any themed cocktails. Looks like they want to cancel the infamous history of the area which is the actual reason why people are going there
