Very good food and a lovely place that we actually stumbled upon accidentally and decided to try out. š Definitely recommend.
I feel so upset when I write a bad comment about places, but I have to be honest. As I went to this pub, I was starving and thirsty. I had fish and chips, which was the worst fish and chips that I've ever eat in England. Even mayonnaise and other sauces were so bad. I'm sorry, but the staff wasn't friendly because she was probably working alone. She was running downstairs, kitchen, outside and everywhere. I had a serious stomach problem after I ate this fish and chips.
One of the old pubs in London that you can get yourself the traditional British pub food such as bangers and mash or fish and chip. Itās conveniently located in central London and within a walking distance to St. Paul Cathedral. Iāve overheard from the table next to mine that it serves some good Prosecco.
As someone who works (and eats/drinks) in The City, I wouldnāt recommend this place. Itās proximity to St Paulās Cathedral means that it picks up lots of passing tourist trade and, because of this, it appears that itās OK to serve average food in an unfriendly way. You may be lucky (if youāre a party of one or two) to get decent service - the fish & chips, if served hot, is good. But Iām embarrassed to see how, on far too many occasions, tourists are treated with poor service. As a Brit Iām embarrassed. Lots of far better places in the area.
Good food, clean place, friendly staff. Their fish and chips were average. BBQ chicken melt was good so as the onion rings. Food was affordable and service was good.
