If you want sausages, mash and gravy then you'll be hard pressed to find better in the city. Have been several times and the food and beer is always good. One of my favourite places. The staff are friendly and the service is prompt. Service was delayed on a recent visit but the quality of the food made up for it.
Only visit when go Barts with my brother yearly .. but landlady always remembers us she is so friendly and welcoming we had a great lunch there today the food was lovley and service and drinks and sat outside in the the sunshine even better
Nice pub serving fresh Bishops Finger ale. Personally I like a colder beer so after I tried the cask ale, I switched to the colder bottled Bishops Finger. Ordered the Market Sausage ‘n Mash. Absolutely delicious!! Plenty of seating. Relaxing atmosphere and not busy on a Monday evening. Friendly staff with quick service. Good tunes playing, lively crowd, great food and even better beers. A must try spot for the tourist or the local.

I didn't know pubs like this still existed in Central London especially after the pandemic so I was glad to stumble across this gem. It has lots of dark wood inside which adds character to the decor and ambience and serves a great rose wine. They have a private function room upstairs as well as limited outside seating overlooking Smithfields & Barts Hospital. Lovely.
