Friendly thatched village local dating from 1549 tucked away at the top of the High Street. Everards' first tied house, the pub is well known locally for the quality of its beer and is frequented by Everards' brewery staff. Three rooms are served by a central bar, with long alley skittles and a snooker room to the rear. Outside there is a patio area and garden. Lunches are served Tuesday to Saturday.
The perfect pub! We broke a journey here on the strength of the Good Beer Guide entry and were delighted that we did. Food and beer were excellent and the service superb. The friendly, welcoming staff and locals made us very welcome, and the landlord and landlady treated us like regulars. All that and the decor is great and the pub has a thatched roof!
Fantastic traditional pub. Excellent quality beers and a lovely team
Lovely friendly pub with delicious honest food and a menu to suit most tastes and some good beer/drink options too.
Absolutely fantastic pub with friendly, helpful staff. The food was reasonably priced, great value and tasty. The function room is tasteful and cosy and I am looking forward to returning very soon.
EH Smith Quiz night 31st January. Excellent evening compered by Mick with lovely food prepared by Linda. We were well looked after by all their lovely staff. Thanks very much.😀 We will be back to do it again.
