My wife and I booked to come here for a meal in between Christmas and New Year. On entering the pub I noticed it was dead with just one other couple having a drink, not a good sign. I asked what is the pie of the day and was told by the bar man it's braised beef and haggis, but there might be others and I'll let you know. A few minutes past and the land lady asked us for our food order. Again I asked what is the pie of the day. She said there are three different types but I opted for the beef and haggis. The bar man never came back in between to let me know about the pies. My wife ordered chicken burger and chips and cauliflower cheese, I also ordered the cauliflower cheese. When the food came I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought I must of ordered a children's meal or a mince pie by mistake. Baring in mind the pie is £9.00 without sides. It was rediculasly small about 10cm in diameter with no pasty top. There was about two tiny pieces of beef in the bottom then filled up with haggis. It was a joke. My pie and cauliflower was served on a long white plate with a dusting of paprika on the plate, why I've no idea, maybe the cook thought it looked chefy, but no it looked daft and didn't need to be there My wife's chicken burger began to fall to pieces within minutes as the lettuce and tomato were put on the bottom of the bun so made it soggy and horrible. But that's not all, the cauliflower cheese was served in a brown petri dish, the kind you find when you buy a good pattie` This cauliflower cheese hadn't ever seen any cheese. It was firm to cut not soft like it should be and in the bottom was a watery juice which had come out of the cauliflower. There was no cheese sauce whatsoever. When asked if everything was OK we told them actually no it's terrible. The pie is tiny and your charging £9.00 for it. He apologised and said he would have the cauliflower replaced. When it came back it was clear it was the same two dishes just had a bit of coloured cheddar put on top and put in the oven. We complained to the land lady who said she was sorry and was adamant they were two new cauliflower cheese dishes, I said no I don't think so as they were still full of water in the bottom. She began to argue with me and was quite rude. We asked for the bill and she said there would be a significant discount. She came back with the bill and put it on table, didn't say a word and walked away. We checked the bill and all she had knocked off was the over priced cauliflower cheese at £5.25 x 2. This was not a significant discount, nothing knocked off for the terrible chicken burger or the poor service. This is probably the worst eating experience we ever had. This is a pub trying to be a restaurant and doing it very badly but still charging restaurant prices for rubbish food. It's the first time ever that we had to go to McDonald's after a meal out as we were still hungry. McDonald's knocked the socks off what we had just been served. We vouwd never to go back to the Green Man at Inglewhite and would urge everyone to not touch it with a barge poll.

Popped in for lunch with the dog after a boggy, soggy walk around Beacon Fell. The homemade pies are incredible. There was a choice of 4 available, from chicken, bacon and onion to braised beef and haggis through to cheese and onion, which I had. Garlic mash and herby mushy peas on the side and excellent gravy. One of the best lunches I've had! All washed down with a lovely pint of Santa Paws. Will be stopping again next time we're in the area!

Found this gem of a pub on our travels. Lovely location and super clean and cared for. Kim is very lovely and the menu is amazing, the additions available are great. Well looked after and vegan options were huge! More than the menu shows. All local source made there and then and tasty, we got vegan coleslaw made for us. Would recommend to everyone and be in that neck of the woods again so we can go back! Thank you everyone for the hospitality
