About us

The Hesketh Arms Rufford – an authentic public house, serving a wide range of real ales and great food. We offer a menu of British Pub Classics and Seasonal Specials using regional produce Whether it’s a pie and a pint on a Tuesday night, a three course Sunday lunch or a Seafood Special, we want to be your pub of choice every day of the week.

Our chalkboard specials allow us to offer a selection of steak cuts and sizes, produce from local farms and the best of the catch of the day. We are proud to serve a wide selection of local ales.

Situated in West Lancashire, Rufford is a delightful village with white-walled houses and an imposing church, built in the Gothic revival manner. The National Trust’s Old Rufford Hall is close by, and worth a visit if you are visiting for the day.

Food is served every day, with lighter options available for lunch Monday to Saturday. Follow us on social media to keep up to date with our specials and weekly foodie events. We are now dog friendly and you might even find a treat or two awaiting for them.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Went for tea early Saturday evening, was seated in a nice quiet area away from the bar . Prompt and friendly service . All our meals were delicious, piping hot and well presented. I had crispy chilli chicken which was absolutely amazing, so tasty. Would highly recommend.

Great pub, warm welcome great staff. Good selection of ales and fantastic food. From the main menu and Sunday roast, we sampled both. Dog friendly with biscuits and plenty of dog bowls for water . If you have not been then definitely put it on your list of places to try ...you won't be disappointed.

Lots of parking is available, outdoor seating and children's play areas. Inside is nice with an old world feel, toilets immaculate. Service was very pleasant and polite but food took 45 minutes to arrive. Advised that all the tomatoes had been used so not available as described on menu. Steaks about £18-22, sides about £4. All of us enjoyed the food. Rump steak shown, no tomato, no side.

First impressions: cosy and popular place, this is why it was quite busy (we were there on a bank holiday Monday). First we just popped in for a drink but then decided to have dinner too, even if we have to wait for our table. The food was just the usual pub grub, the staff was above average.

Very caring staff, felt very welcome as soon as I entered. Good, proper beers good pub style food. Not an extensive choice, but what we had was good. A plus for us, we could eat indoors with our dog and there were bowls and biscuits. Happy dog, happy owners that can relax and spend a little bit longer. Thank you!
