Visited the station inn with a friend today for lunch. Now it is under new ownership. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and could not fault it and will be back. Would recommend it.
First time back after long time closed. Good traditional food, friendly staff check your experience, reasonable value for money. Back to what we would expect.
The Station Inn has reopened under new management. Bare with them untill they are up and running. As when we were in for lunch a few things we tried to order wasn't available at the time as it hadn't come in from their supplier. But still what we got was lovely full of flavour and the staff are friendly polite and helpful also the food is lovely full of flavour and it was a nice atmosphere.
Thought I would give the Station Inn a go as it has opened under new management and always used to be a great wee pub - restaurant. Had heard reviews about service being slightly under par. And unfortunately experienced slightly! I'm aware it's all young staff and a new restaurant so everyone is still finding there feet, but the price tag that comes with the food makes you feel you should be getting top notch service and unfortunately it's not quite there. The young lad took us to our table then quickly disappeared without asking if we wanted any drinks. Was then a half hour before anyone came back to ask about drinks. Then when I asked for a steak, that I had been really looking forward to all day, I was told there was none left. Running out of steak at 7pm on a Saturday?? Slightly disappointing. Table next to us were surrounded by empty glasses which hadn't been removed, so much that they had started to put them on the windowsill as there was no more room on there table. Don't get me wrong the food was tasty and hot when it came (Ended up with chunky chips instead of fries but decided to just go with it) But didn't quite live up to the slightly high end price tag that comes with it. Little tweaks and better training with staff could improve this place greatly but overall a fairly average night out.
Stumbled across this gem on a Sunday drive...what a find! From the moment we walked through the door the staff were attentive and extremely helpful, talking us through the menu and specials and frequently returning throughout our visit to see if we required anything. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I opted for 3 courses from the weekly specials menu, Bloody Mary Prawn Cocktail for starters, BBQ Pulled Beef Burger for mains and the Tablet and Raspberry Ripple Sundae for afters. Wow! Presentation to die for! I’ve never experienced such flavour from a prawn cocktail before, Bloody Mary sauce added a total twist. Burger arrived following a perfect length pause after starters, again immaculately presented, so much flavour and chips cooked just the way I like them. Just enough room to squeeze in a desert, homemade tablet was outstanding combined with the raspberry ripple ice cream. So glad we decided to stop by, we will be back!!!
