The inn is mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1084 when it was most likely a shepherd's cottage built halfway between the shepherd's homes and the traditional grazing pastures. In 1520 the cottage became an Inn with a charter allowing shepherds to warm their sickly lambs by the fires.

Large group prebooked, very impressed by young man serving us and chef . We all had different starters, mains, desserts and drinks. Our server was brilliant, so patient with us all. Food was fabulous and all different mains arrived together hot and tasty. Could not fault it. Definitely 5*** service and food totally recommend a visit. Will be back.
Booked for a family meal. The wait was slightly longer than we’d hope for especially as we was one of the first tables in once they opened. I found it really bad that the children’s meals only come with one side so if you choose nuggets you can get peas but you have to pay extra for chips? I had the lasagne which was really nice. The service was pretty slow I’m not sure if they were short staffed but it was faster to pop to the bar ourselves.
Absolutely perfect! Roast dinners were perfect, meat cooked to perfection and even the vegetables were delicious. Our waiter Shayne was funny and very attentive, especially with our young daughter. The setting and atmosphere are perfect too! Highly recommend 👌
Fantastic welcome and service all the way, the food on the menu is amazing, can only say what a delightful restaurant to visit, from start to finish! We were served impeccably by Elena and Hollie, and super enjoyed the magic that manifested itself from the kitchen, namely the chef’s- Richard and Mandy! Thank you both for such wizardry! Thank you everyone!… we will be back for sure!! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to have a lovely experience with food, and great service! Steve and Bee x
We made a snap decision to visit The Lamb for the first time as my wife had recieved a gift voucher. Although it looked busy, they found us a table straight away. The atmosphere was typical homely country pub and the staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the chicken burger and my wife had sirloin steak. We both cleared our plates as it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely return soon, voucher or not, it was very reasonable. And they have Harveys on tap, always a winner for me!
