Lovely place. Watched my son & his friends play pool. Best part was 1 pint John Smith's+ 1 pint of Strongbow Cider less than £7. £2 less than my local.

Very disappointed, I had heard a lot about the changes in this place. I've known it for years I worked there when I was 18 and it was my local. Since then 42 years I have seen many changes. Having moved away now I stay in touch with Ely. Having heard the pub was doing an excellent choice of real ales I decided to return. I was met by a very drunk customer who kept singing and dancing in front of me. In fact he was the only customer except for the lady he was with. I took one look at the real ale choice, two and neither appealed. But so as not to cause offence to the drunk I had a pint and stayed. I could just imagine him mouthing off if I walked out. He wasn't an aggressive drunk far from it, but the bar lady should have told him. The bar lady was pleasant and nice, I know her from another pub and she has always been that way, a good recruit for the pub. Sadly I've written this review but I think the owners need to know. I'm sure it's not like this all the time, but I won't return to find out but that's based on the choice of real ales, the quality was fine.

Popped in yesterday whilst waiting for a train and I’ve got to say it’s one of the nicest and friendliest pubs I’ve been to. My first time visiting Ely and I’ll probably back a few more times for a pint here!

The ratings on Google said 4.1 when we went there but..i think it was a little less. My rating was for the food and i think the day we went, they were quite busy and it took a while for our food to arrive. The service from the kitchen was a little slower than what we would have liked. These were from the set menu. Vegetarian.

A friendly and reliably-tasty option for lunch or dinner in Ely. The King's Arms has a varied menu of pub classics (think fish and chips, pie of the day, burger...) and has very regular live music events (mostly soul, motown and rock). I went with the scampi, and my companion went with the cottage cheese tart (both pictured). The scampi was cooked just right, the tartar sauce was really nice and the chips, while a little big for my personal liking, were also not bad at all. The tart was apparently very nice. The service is very attentive and friendly, and the decor is comfortable (though there seems to be works going on in the back bar area right now). There's also a little car park (pictured) if that's needed.
