Country style pub on the outskirts of the village near Bewl water. A large open log fire greets you on your left as you walk in. To the left of the bar is a seating area with comfortable sofas and beyond that a large restaurant. Three hand pumps serve ales.
Great welcome, very attentive staff, good food, value for money, well worth a visit.
Stopped off on the way home from Hastings, was very impressed with the menu, fantastic food, and lovely staff. Was a pleasure, we will be back!
A nice family run pub. Food was decent (arrived reasonably quicky) and was fresh. Portions were v generous as well However the table we were sat at was quite sticky - so that could have been better.
Had my birthday meal with 11 family members.. the pub was lovely and cosy, the staff warm and welcoming and all of our food was delicious! Plenty of options on the menu and very reasonably priced. We were all happy and said how we will definitely be visiting again.
We stopped here for lunch after sightseeing. It was a perfect, sunny day between Christmas and New Years so everyone was out and about. Parking lot was full so we parked a few streets away. This of course was the first sign that the restaurant was full. We were lucky and they had a table available for the 5 of us. We didn’t realize it was self-service so you have to order and pay upfront at the bar. The food took more than 1 hour and this killed our chance to visit another nearby castle. However, the meals were extremely delicious so i guess it was worth the long wait!
