About us

This grand old coaching inn has been in continuous use since at least the early 1800s. In the nineteenth century it served food and drink to coachmen, weary passengers and a highwayman or two as they travelled up and down the busy London to Hastings coaching route. These days it still provides a warm welcome to those using the busy London Road, serving refreshing drinks and home cooked food in the pretty village of Dunton Green, just 2 miles north of Sevenoaks.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Visited for lunch to catch up with family members. Seated at a round table made conversation easier, thank you. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and were attentive just to the right level. We settled our bill when some of our party left, then the rest of us ordered more drinks and carried on with a new tab. We asked if our table was needed but were told we were welcome to stay and chat. A very pleasant experience all round. Thank you for having us!

We had a really lovely celebration dinner at Rose and Crown tonight. We had not visited in a very long time but as our friend Ash recommended it we gave it a go. And what a lovely experience it was - from service to food everything was fantastic. Even our 10 year old (fussy eater) had really good choices for food and was very pleased. Thank you for making our evening special! Will not hesitate to recommend to friends.

A happy atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, guiness was smooth but the diet coke was flat, they did try to remedy but was still the same. Definitely would come again, Will order the bottles next time.

The pub is very welcoming and we was served quickly. Food was great. A couple of items were missed off my child's menu and was told they were coming but never turned up. We would return and recommend

My husband and I visited the Rose & Crown on a recent trip to England. They were close by our lodging and was selected purely for their proximity. What a marvelous bit of serendipity. I ordered the slow roasted pork and my husband the duo of lamb. Both dishes were completely sublime. The pork was tender to the point that you didn't really even need a knife to cut it even though it was thick. The sides were flavorful and paired perfectly with the mains. My husband says that the lamb roast was the best he'd ever had and the shepherd's pie was nice too. The service was also amazing. Andy was the best. He made us feel completely welcome. So much so that even though we were at the end of our trip we went back the next night (our final night) for a late night snack. The second night we shared the duck pizza. We had the best food of our entire trip at the Rose and Crown.
