About us

The inn is named after the gate that once led into Leeds Castle Park in the mid nineteenth century. Leeds Castle has been home to royalty, lords and ladies for over a thousand years. Park Gate was a small hamlet at that time and was served by the inn that has a 16th century building at its core.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Another excellent meal at The Park Gate Inn! Welcoming bar staff, warm and cosy atmosphere and great hostess, Jane. We ordered the smoked mackerel pate and creamy garlic mushrooms to start - wonderful! It was fresh and tasty, perfect portion size too. We both had rib eye steak, again perfectly cooked, hot and fresh. Very reasonably priced, and given enough time between courses. Recommend, recommend, recommend!!

Have been here a few times with our dog but lunch on Saturday 20th January was excellent. Food def improved (wasn't bad to start with) and service excellent. They were smashed with customers but let us know that and apologised that deserts took a while. Main courses around £15-17. Whole thing made by the staff who were great.

Wow, what an amazing pub/ restaurant. Only had some chips this time, but my gosh, they honestly are the best chips in the world! Had a 0.0% Gordon's pink gin and lemonade - just delicious. Lovely big, comfortable armchairs right by 1 of the 3 fireplaces they have. Have booked for their incredible Sounding Valentine's Day menu. The landlord is incredibly friendly, put some extra logs on the fire for us (after a cold day out) and done my little boy a glass of milk and a small cup of raspberries, as he loved mine so much. Incredible service, building, drinks, and chips. Can't wait to come here for Valentine's Day.

We had a lovely waiter named Neróss. Extremely pleasant and thoughtful. The food and service was 10 our of 10. We can not wait to come back to try their other menu items. Highly recommend the tomato and pepper soup, trio roast dinner and Christmas tree cheesecake. You can tell they only use high quality ingredients and 5 star service.

After visiting Leeds castle we came across this pub. It has a nice big outside space for a warm day and a wide variety on the menu. We opted for the Steak sandwich as it was lunchtime. We were not disappointed! The best steak sandwich I have ever eaten. The steak was tender not at all chewy and the bread was soft unlike most places where you get chewy steak and a hard ciabatta. The sandwich is amazing when dipped into the gravy Jus on the side. We would highly recommend visiting here for a tasty reasonable priced meal.
