First time I've been In,very welcoming,cheap beer,cosy and dog friendly. I will be going back. I am now a member of this club.
I attended today with my daughter and sister to see a friend play in a band to be told they’re not serving food, despite checking beforehand that they did. My daughter is one and was hungry so decided to go and get some chips. As soon as I sat down with the box I was approached and was told I couldn’t eat in here. As ridiculous as I found it, I reluctantly I agreed to eat outside. As she was getting irritated I broke up some chips to cool down, left the box in the pram and walked around with her. Whilst I was gone, my sister was then approached and was told to ‘close up the food!’ She explained it was for a baby, this woman was not understanding whatsoever! We were not made to feel welcome at all, we gathered up our stuff and left. The lack of leniency is shocking! Not allowing a ONE YEAR OLD BABY to eat?? That’s another kind of low!!
Was invited here by my friend to watch him play live in his band. When we got there, we popped to the chip shop to get my 1 year old niece some chips as she was hungry. My sister got out a few chips to break up to put on the table for the baby however the second she did this, she was approached and was rudely told ‘no eating in here!’ despite the fact it was literally 2 chips for a BABY. The food was put away in the buggy. My sister went for a walk with the baby when I was approached by an EXTREMELY rude older lady who tapped me on my shoulder and said ‘CLOSE YOUR FOOD’. I responded what do you mean? She pointed into the buggy and said close it now. I explained that it’s for the baby later and that we’re aware we can’t eat in the place. She just kept pointing at me at the food saying close it now. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and completely inappropriate. We left after my friend and his band had played 1 song as the baby was crying since she was so hungry. Everyone in there was very elitist and think they are entitled and therefore showed us lack of respect.
Had a great time, made even better watching a great band MUSTN'T GRUMBLE. can't wait to see them again at the Legion Dymchurch
Decent old fashioned pub. Barman / manager said we could come in for a drink even though not members. It was perfect. Would come more often if I lived nearer and signed up
