We booked Christmas Day lunch here and it was such a wonderful! The staff were absolutely amazing, really accommodating (to our 5 year old especially, who wasn't a fan of turkey) we were sat next to the open fire and the Christmas Tree, so felt so festive! Nothing was too much trouble, there was no rush, really comfortable, brought treats for our daughter, was just lovely. The food was the best meal we've eaten there, there was a lot of it too, with a delicious palette cleaner, we were struggling to finish pudding, and we absolutely would say it was value for money. We didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms, but I had to put something so I put 5 stars! We said as we left, we will be back this year, highly highly recommend! Thank you all for giving us such a fab Christmas experience!
Great location , good service, unclean toilets. Well located, few minutes from centre of Canterbury and train station. Efficient check-in and millers room good size. Breakfast was also very good. However cleanliness of bathroom and plumbing were an issue. En suite was not properly clean, dusty corners, splashes of soap on walls , filthy toilet brush. Shower was a disaster, water streamed everywhere and really needs examination. In the morning it was clear public toilets had not been cleaned overnight and remained in the same state when we returned later in the afternoon. Could be really nice but need to sort cleaning and plumbing.
Staff were very friendly and breakfast was lovely. Only reason I gave 4 starts for the room was it was small and the bed was a small double also shower cubicle was very small but it was very clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for Canterbury City centre and the Marlow theatre
The level of service and the quality of the food is always excellent here. In particular, Leon and his team are amazingly helpful, accommodating, patient and hardworking. The layout and surroundings are perfect and the location is just right in terms of parking and the city centre. We’ve been here a number of times and will be back again!
My family had visited this place before and had a great time. I visited for the first time and was very happy with the service and location. The atmosphere was great and the menu looked fantastic. Unfortunately what we hoped to have was not on the menu at weekends. The menu choices were lovely but we enjoyed cold drinks instead. We plan to go again as it is such a lovely pub.
