Had a Farm Shop Platter - a great combination of baked Camembert with hazelnuts and honey, a couple small lamb koftas with a small naan, tzakiki and salad, chicken liver parfait covered in a blackberry gel, toasted strips of garlic ciabatta, celery, cucumber, and grapes. Sharing for two, there was more than enough.

Today we visited The Jolly Farmer for a late Sunday lunch. It was the first time I had visited the pub since it changed from being a Harvester & it won't be the last visit, that's for sure! What a lovely upgrade! The pub has a lovely vibe, very friendly & welcoming. It had cosy corners & a warm atmosphere, but also lots of light & space. I would recommend this pub for anyone looking to have a drink or dine alone, as well as for couples or larger groups. We showed up with no booking as a group of 4 adults, just after peak time for Sunday lunch & got a table, however, like most places offering a good roast, I would recommend booking ahead if you are part of a particularly large group or wish to dine during peak times. The service was fantastic - staff were polite, cheerful & really added to our overall excellent experience. The food was good too, not the biggest menu, but what they did offer they did very well!! Plus the range of roasts was great, it was after all a Sunday visit, so I imagine the menu may be different during the rest of the week. I would recommend checking if you would like to know what that may consist of before your visit. All 4 of us agreed that our whole experience was excellent value for money & we would all definitely go back & would all definitely recommend The Jolly Farmer to others!

Five stars are not enough for this restaurant I strongly suggest you go out of your way to visit the service was excellent and the food didn’t disappoint either I’m guessing the chefs must be the owners for the food to be this quality

Eaten at Harvesters hundreds of times, but this was undoubtedly the best visit so far. We arrived over an hour before our booked time as shopping had taken less time than expected but the staff seated us within 20 minutes anyway, a drink in bar passed the time. We chose from the festive menu, me the turkey, and my wife, the ribs. Both meals substantial and tasty. I can honestly say I couldn't fault any aspect of the visit. The Hogs back brewery TEA ale was EXCELLENT, (I usually enjoy the Doombar but fancied a change), the salad bar fresh and well stocked, the mains as stated, delicious, and as pigs, we had desserts which again could not be faulted. The young lady who served us was genuinely friendly and helpful. I'd like to think this is a long term improvement to the often patchy standards at Harvesters, not yet convinced, only time will tell, but if you are out and about this Xmas and fancy a very reasonably priced meal, you could do a lot worse than the Jolly Farmer at Puttenham. Enjoy, we did 😁👍

We called up and was greeted by an automated phone system which tells you if they have any space available for bookings. It's great if your introverted or have social problem as it's all done by your phone keypad. You can also choose to speak to a staff member if you prefer the old school way. The only problem was the ice creams were incredibly melted were creating overflows of sticky chocolate meaning you couldn't eat it without getting your hands sticky - but I guess you don't have to order it if you want something less messier to eat.
