Saturday 11,30 large coffee orders slowed service, after ten minutes waiting ,a burly surly twenty something wearing headphones poured my drink , over 7 pounds for a pint & crisps... there are better & cheaper cafes local, and I know of a few 30 year old adults looking for managing positions . Won't be back in a hurry.. ( table in picture not cleared for over ten minutes either.

This was quite possibly some of the worst food I've eaten. The food was seasoned to the extent that all of the four dishes that were ordered only tasted of salt. I complained and was told it was soy sauce seems strange as I was the only one to have eaten a dish with soy. None of us could finish our food . There was no apology or deduction in the bill and paying £19 for each main course. And to top it all I ended up an upset stomach for the rest of the night from the salt. Avoid at all costs.

AWFUL FOOD AT TOP LONDON PRICES! It would be 0/5 stars but i have to give one to post. Maybe the manager can have that before the carnage kicked off after he left. This used to be a solid place to eat, now its turned into a £7 a pint establishment with a strange small portions expensive menu. We sadly booked on the 'Exciting New Menu' night! I think they were so excited about it they only decided to have a handful of options available (or the specials which were the left overs from the old menu). This is now a pub trying to do fine dining food which has a cosplay 'chef' at the helm... or maybe the night we were there. Tiny portions badly cooked, plus you will wait 45mins for the privilege. I ordered the braised Ox cheek and was asked by the waiter how i wanted it cooked.... It turned up as a cold ball of rubber which was beyond inedible. The dry Venison was the size of a golf ball with limited veg and smears of sauce. The lifeless vegan option was cold cous cous and a slice of aubergine (£17!) Plus one order was forgotton about completely. £5 for herb fries..... no herbs etc etc etc. Only two people out of six had passable food and our bill was still over £100. Took us a while to even pay as all the staff i guess were hiding out the back. No accountability or apology. Do not bother, just go anywhere else. Literally, anywhere. It was baltic outside but Fish and Chips on the beach would of been a more enjoyable experience that night! Or The Fort in Seaview. 🙂

I just read this review: 'Janet Shannon a year ago on Google 1/5 We were underwhelmed when we arrived considering other guest reviews! ....Accommodation was in need of maintenance for example loose light switch, stains on the carpet, cracked floor and sink in the bathroom, the toilet roll holder hanging of wall! Curtains that wouldn't close without a struggle some parts of the curtain actually didn't have hooks! Marked furniture surfaces lifting looked shabby! The only positive thing was the view! It's a shame as we loved the Isle of Wight and it was our very first visit there.' I think we got Janet Shannon's room over the weekend , for information , one year on there are still stains on the carpet (and rug filthy), floor still cracked (mould in the tile grout as well), sink in bathroom still cracked, toilet roll holder hanging off wall. curtains only closed with a fight, furniture surfaces heavily marked and lifting. View lovely , linen good. No sign of a cleaner or bed maker for the duration of stay (3 nights). Waste bin got emptied but that was the lot. No clean cups or glasses ever (had to go and get myself) No replacement tea bag, sugar/milk (had to get myself) 2/3 breakfasts a disaster. First morning we waited so long we gave up, second morning eggs were inedible , sent them back and they came back inedible again so we gave up. Dining tables are so sticky , one day it took the wool off my jumper. Despite all of this we were offered a drink at the bar with a staff discount. Up side the barmaid was nice.

Called and booked a table with a sea view over a week ago for a Sunday roast, on arrival was shown to a table up against a wall, when we questioned our booking we were informed that they were very busy and this was the only table available for two people. We ordered our drinks which were wrong, this was corrected with an apology. We ordered our food which arrived in a timely manner. However the vegetables were not cooked .Overall very disappointed with the meal and then to be charged £43.50 for the experience of two drinks and two roast dinners was well over priced (won't be going back).
