About us

We are a small family run establishment situated on the outskirts of Sandown, close to Adgestone Vineyard, Brading Roman Villa, Brading Station and the beautiful Yaverland Beach.

We are a cosy little pub with an adjoining restaurant, and when the sun is shining we also have a beautiful outside terrace in which you can enjoy your meals.

Chef Mamma Fox and her son Richard, lead the cheffing team, whilst her daughter Becky heads the friendly waiting team.

We look forward to seeing you soon!.

Tucked away is this very popular pub. Service was impeccable and food delightful. The icing on the cake is they allow dogs in the bar...perfect for our dog Lucky, from DogsnHomes Rescue. I was particularly impressed with the beer battered chicken burger washed down with the White Christmas ale.

First time I have been here. Was recommended by a family friend. Have to say, the food, atmosphere, staff and of course the food, all amazing!! I can’t recommend enough. Will definitely be visiting again! The onion rings are the biggest and best I’ve ever had!

We came specifically for the renown Sunday Roast and were not disappointed. Our reserved table was just getting set so we had time to look around. Quaint ambiance, I personally did not care for the plastic white and purple hanging floral decor. Very pleasant attentive staff served us beer and cider, then the very delicious traditional roast with Yorkshire pudding, horseradish, vegies and cheese cauliflower, nut roast, halloumi burger and macaroni cheese. Hubby and I chose the smaller portion of the roast, still more than sufficient. A truly memorable Sunday lunch for sure. It was too cold to sit outside, during warm weather it must be lovely. Free parking tight, but available.

Took my Wife here for her birthday, wow what an incredible place. Amazing staff who were very attentive, food 10/10 just couldn’t fault it, very tasty and generous size portions too. Overall 5 star meal with amazing staff. Thank you so much, you made our evening and it was the perfect ending to a brilliant day. We shall be back every time we come to the Isle of Wight

A very rare 5 star review across the board! Liver, tricky to perfect, was beautifully cooked with a divine sauce. Lasagna, often a meh, was delicious with deep rich flavours of sun dried tomatoes. Prices for both food and wines are very reasonable. Insider tip, to save a few ££, some of the dishes are served as smaller portions, which are still a good size, and allows you to save room for the fabulous deserts. We sampled warm chocolate fudge brownie with local ice-cream, however the star of this show was the sprinkles of home made honeycomb.
