The Horse and Groom is an established family friendly pub on the West of the Isle of Wight, renowned for it’s family friendly welcome and home cooked meals for all the family. This pub has an extensive outside play area for the children with Crazy Golf, Climbing frames and much much more. Open from 1130am everyday come and join us for lunch or dinner. With an extensive menu, local ales and an ever changing specials board we meet all your families needs.
Food, service and drink are perfect for me. Not pretentious, big menu of good honest food, well cooked and delicious. Sensibly priced. Portion sizes to keep everyone happy, in fact caters well to keep everyone happy (families, dogs, vegetarians). Excellent parking.
When everywhere else was closed or stopped serving on a Sunday, we stumbled across the horse and groom. Staff were great and the food is the best pub food I have eaten in a while, great portion size well presented and cooked. Steve was very welcoming and helpful we will certainly be recommending to our family and friends and will make this place a regular stop when we visit the island next time.
Amazing atmosphere and a beautiful old pub. Smoked salmon and shrimp cocktail, and apple crumble were delicious. Service was good, nice outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Wonderful place for lunch!
Just had steak and ale pie it's out of this world. Not having any teeth, it just melted in my mouth it was nice to eat a meal without chewing it for a long time. My wife had Rumpsteak cooked to perfection when we vist the isle of wight again. we would return to have another fantastic meal, well done, horse and groom pub staff, A+
Spent lunch at the Horse and Groom today and was not disappointed. Good spacious pub with indoor and outdoor seating and excellent access all round. Good facilities for the kids with a big outdoor play area with climbing frames and crazy golf. Good choice of meals available, do bear in mind that if you're seating outside there is a reduced menu and some COVID restrictions are in still in place. Good choice of meals available, well presented, kids and veggies are well catered for.
