About us

As you approach Dores from Inverness, the first thing you see is an iconic view of the loch, and the second, as you get nearer is The Dores Inn directly by the beach.

On a cold day you can relax by the cosy log fire and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner from a varied menu of home cooked food. On a nice day, you can eat out on the sun terrace or enjoy a drink or two from the ‘The OutDores Inn’ bar soaking up the rays in the large beer garden. Whatever the weather the view from the inn is stunning and you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome!

It is advisable to book in advance for meals, as the restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists alike. We have a large selection of malt whiskies, local gins, real ales and fine wines ready to sample.

If booking in for food or drinks, why not use our complementary shuttle bus which will offer pick up and drop off within 10 miles of Dores. Please allow a minimum of 24 hours notice.

Pick up is subject to availability and number of guests requiring the service.

Service was good but found the food average, and the pub cold, not the cozy pub we’d hoped for. The haggis I had did taste ok but didn’t look the best, see pic. Was advised the veg order had not arrived so was left with haggis and mash.

Just popped in for a pint and a soup while taking in the sights of Dores beach at Loch Ness. Very friendly staff, great recommendations on larger. I had the sweet potato, chilli and coconut soup. Very very tasty! Highly recommended! The restaurant and bar area is very warm and welcoming. Clean and tidy inside and out! A must stop on your travels around Scotland!

Delicious fish and chips and scampi, big portions, amazing service, and a great spot by the lake for a swim. Would recommend 100%!

Visited the Dores Inn today with some friends and we were all captivated by the amazing views. Now, about the food. After trying a few fish and chip places in the UK I was a little disappointed with the quality, but I can confidently say that the fish and chips I had at The Dores Inn were the best I've ever tasted in the UK. The dish was truely amazing, fish was perfectly cooked with crispy golden batter. Highly recommend!
