Stuart and Melanie Blackledge will be moving into the pub at the end of September and are looking forward to a new life in the area and becoming an important part of the community.
The Hyndburn Restaurant and Bar will have a real family feel and, as parents of three children, Melanie and Stuart know what it takes to deliver great food for kids at great prices.
Stuart said “We intend to be among the best food pubs in the area, with a real focus on delivering a ‘great pub - great food - great price’ experience for our customers. This opportunity allows us to combine two passions - a love of quality food and also excellent service.”
Prior to their taking on the lease of the Hyndburn Restaurant & Bar, it had been closed for a year. Thanks to their hard work and a joint £340k investment with Star Pubs & Bars, Stuart and Melanie have put the pub back on the map. Trade is now buoyant with the couple regularly serving meals for around 350 over a Saturday and Sunday.
Since opening, the couple have started running a pub quiz on a Thursday and created a cocktail bar for Winter months, which is proving popular with regulars and people holding celebrations at the pub. They have also just started opening for breakfast seven days a week, from 9-11am.
Stuart explained: “Opening for breakfast was something we had always planned. But we’ve been so busy, it’s only now we’ve been able to draw breath and do so.”

Had a beautiful meal here tonight. Homemade chips were excellent and the batter on the large fish was really light - all fish!!. Service staff were great, friendly and attentive. Cant fault it, keep up the great work guys. 👍

I went for food and to celebrate and I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere in the pub was chilled, friendly, relaxed and fun. There's a good choice of beer/ale available and service is quick and super friendly. This is an amazing place and I will most definitely be visiting again.
Visited on a Monday evening as a last minute decision to eat out. Lovely friendly staff, great service and fresh hot food. Pizza was excellent and Lamb burger was also delicious. Prices very reasonable.
A quick check of the toilets on entry as you can tell a lot about a place on the condition of the facilities and they were spotless as was the rest of the pub. There were 5 adults and a newborn in our party and we all ordered food and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, I had the pan-fried Sea Bass on a bed of potato stew which was amazing. They have an excellent selection of drinks on offer, I partook in a couple of pints Moorhouses which was spot on. Finally big shout to the staff who were all wonderful and a credit to the business. Highly recommended
