We stayed for a charity event being held in the function suite. However the whole experience was exceptional! From a cheerful greeting as we walked in the door, to helpful staff at every point of contact. The location is stunning, moorland all around and close to Holmfirth that has some lovely places to visit. We stayed in a comfy double. The bed was one of the best we have ever had in a hotel. The pillows just right for a great sleep. The food and drink were exceptional at each point. Even at the large function, the food was fresh and tasty. The breakfast had everything we wanted, however an absolute stand out was the omelette Arnold Bennett! I have never had this before but a really outstanding addition to a breakfast menu. Certainly one I will try to recreate! Thank you for such a lovely 24 hours and we will be back soon.
The pub it’s self was cosy and clean, the staff were friendly. The toilets clean. The food was really nice. However, value for money was horrific. £12 for two pints of Guinness. It wasn’t even a good pint of Guinness. I’m a Guinness drinker and I’d give the Guinness 1/10 London prices for a country pub in Yorkshire. The food was only small portions and no enough gravy.
Beautiful cosy country pub. Our overnight stay was perfect from start to finish. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean. Lovely atmosphere in the evening and the food was amazing! We will definitely return.
Lovely country pub. Great food & atmosphere. Friendly & helpful staff. I have stayed here when attending a wedding. The rooms are well furnished, clean & comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast & the food was excellent.
What a brilliant find - our group consisted of 2 couples. One couple stayed in the hotel & the other stayed in their motorhome in the car park. We all had a lovely time, the rooms were lovely. The service & staff were great from the moment we arrived to when we left. We all ate in the restaurant for our evening meal & all had breakfast in the morning. All the food was very well presented & tasted as good as it looked. We will definitely be coming back
