Thank you so much, we have had a wonderful stay . We have stayed at other Hotel Du Vins but this was our first time at Harrogate. The staff were fantastic, checking in and out was made easy and service was impecable. The room was ready early and was outstanding. We ate lunch in the bar area and had breakfast in the hotel. Both were fantastic. Many thanks, we will stay again.
Great central location and the rooms are lovely (if not a tad warm). However, service is appalling. Had to ask for service on more than one occasion in the restaurant. Not what you expect from a higher end hotel. To be fair the food was good when it came. Reception service was not much better. Be warned parking is a free for all too...unless you have booked. Nearest large car park is a good ten minute walk (you may be lucky and get some on street parking but that is limited too). Disappointing.
Visited Harrogate for the first time and stayed at Hotel Du vin. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, customer service at its best. The location of the hotel is perfect..Betty's Tea Rooms is literally a stone throw from.the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel as we were only staying one night and wanted to eat out. We stayed in room Torres which was just the right size and very clean. We'll definitely be staying again. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay pleasurable.
Stayed for 2 nights. Room was spacious and of a good standard. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good but........oh dear! The meal we had on Saturday night was disappointing! For the price we paid I expected a much better standard! I ordered pan seared scallops which were pan boiled ( clearly somebody doesn't know how to pan sear ) and the garnish was very cold so had come out of a freezer or cold chiller! The quality of the scallops was fine, just a shame that the execution of the dish was poor. When i politely complained the response i received was "well that's how the chef normally cooks them", Not the best response. We both had rump steak with vegetables which was enjoyable. The restaurant wasn't busy but the service was pedestrian, we weren't in a hurry but we were waiting an unreasonable amount of time between courses which was due to the waiter being more interested in laying up tables for breakfast.
My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Du Vin Harrogate. We stayed in the room Torres. My first surprise was finding the shower and bath were in main room, not private. After an uncomfortable nights sleep as room was so hot, I took a shower, before long the room was full of steam, condensation, the windows were running with water and as I went to open window, you could see the mould around the frames. Dead wasps behind the curtain, leaking toilet handle and drip underneath toilet sink. It’s the attention to detail that is lacking in this room. We ate in Bistro the first night. French onion soup was very nice, but the fillet steak was well below par for the price. It wasn’t even the size of a beef burger. We ate out at Vivido the next night, fabulous. Breakfast was average, standing in queue for coffee and to toast your own bread isn’t acceptable for the price you pay here. The reception area is lovely, the foreign lady on desk is very helpful, and we enjoyed Harrogate. However our Bill coming in not much under £600 for 2 nights, 1 meal, couple of drinks and 1 breakfast left us thinking, would we return 🤔.
