Had a lovely afternoon in here on a monthly Sunday afternoon Soul Music disco. Would highly recommend you check it out. It can be a bit quiet the rest of the week.
Argyle "on tour". Our first away match in The Championship for 13yrs!! And what a fitting place to start in this pub. We were made very welcome and with a mixture of home and away fans and good friendly banter it was all enhanced by TV screens watching " The Arsenal " ( not a favourite team for the locals !! ) and England women. London Pride was the order of the day and the Landlord invited us to eat our fish and chips bought across the road, in the pub. Nice touch Boss !! Just less than a mile from Watford Junction station it was perfectly placed after our 0700 train from Plymouth. And we got a creditable draw against the home team.....excellent day all round!!
A decent place to visit with friends. I enjoyed my short stay. Varieties of booze and plenty of sittings available.
It’s a bit of a basic pub decor wise and on a weekend afternoon wasn’t the most cosy of retreats, with a vibe that felt more for ‘regular locals’. The range of drinks available is alright and the prices reasonable, but a bit of a spruce up is needed to bring it into line with the other nearby alternatives.
