Staff are very friendly. Service swift, prices reasonable. Dog friendly. Warm and clean. Visited twice. I didn't have food, but what came out looked nice and large portions.
Myself and my Wife visited Paignton in September for a week with our little Jack Russel with knew Henry's was dog friendly so we used it every evening for a meal and drinks ( sometimes too many drinks) because it was good value and a nice welcoming atmosphere, we made the same trip in December for a long weekend same thing Henry's every evening couldn't fault it , we have just had another long weekend in Paignton Henry's again first 2 nights put our coats over the seats for our little dog to sit on lots of customers stopped and stroked her lovely nights had again, then on the 3rd night a Barlady behind bar which was the first time we had seen her this weekend was very abrupt and said our little dog could not sit on our coats on the seat or even on my wife's lap she said all 4 paws had to be on the floor, we were a party 6 adults ( the youngest being 64 ) and a small we were all going to a meal and drinks if your staff can afford to turn £180- £240 worth of trade on a wet and windy January night why stay open after 6 -30 on a Sunday evening.
Popped in here for a quick visit, specifically craving fish and chips! Ordered Hand Battered Fish and Chips and a side salad. We were amazed by what was delivered less than 10 minutes later. A large piece of fish coated in a perfect tasty crispy batter, plenty of chips and a good serving of really fresh tasting garden peas. The salad was incredible for less than £3. I am a frequent eater of side salads and this was one of the best ever received. Fresh shredded lettuce, cucumber spears and halves of baby plum tomatoes and crispy red pepper topped with mild red onion and with a salad dressing. Friendly service in a traditional pub type restaurant.
Lovely little pub type eatery serving wholesome food at a reasonable price. Staff were attentive and provided colouring books for children. They allow well behaved dog's and children in until 10 pm. Portion sizes were good, and it was tasty.
We enjoyed a good House Special, Hunter's chicken. The chips (fries) were hot and crisp. The peas were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly, with cheese and bacon on top. A real treat. The lager was cold. The staff were friendly.
