Bottle Shop and micro pub with an ever changing selection of craft beers and real ales and over 150 bottles and cans.
New micropub and bottleshop just of Chillingham Road in Heaton. The front room has the bottle shop including a very good range of premium bottled beers, some in the forty quid segment! Newly refurbished lounge area, bar area and outside drinking area. Four real ales are served including some from the wood as well as local ales. Three real Ciders and one Perry are also on sale. A picture of Bruce Springsteen on Born in the U.S.A. from a rare Italian print currently decorates the wall. A cosy backroom with five tables and cushions has aplenty of beer memorabilia. An outside veranda offers further seating options. Six keg lines as well.
Small but perfectly-formed bar inside a converted shop, a few metres off Chillingham Road. Loads of beers in cans and on draught, for fair prices. Friendly service and a great atmosphere, it's cramped inside but that adds to the character. There are a couple of small tables outside.
Thought I'd give this place another go since it's only up the road from me, but I certainly won't be back. Incredibly rude service from the landlord both times. My partner tried to ask a question about the beers and before he could even finish his sentence, the landlord barked "it says it on the fridge doors" as if my partner was stupid. Incredinly hostile. The whole point of places like this is to try different beers and get expert advice. Do yourself a favour and go to Elder beer cafe round the corner for a much better experience!
Stay well clear! Lovely place with a great beer selection. Yet, an incredibly grumpy landlord that likes to charge you more (and excuse later). He makes you feel like doing him a favour, and being a nuisance. What a shame for what I hoped would be a nice place.
Small local micro pub with a large selection of draught, canned beers, cider and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating with friendly atmosphere.
Booked a slot here just after pubs reopened. Nice set up with the outdoor seating. Friendly welcome from the barman and tried two great ales at very reasonable prices. Always good to support local businesses and you won't go far wrong choosing this place. Will be back for certain.
