Situated in the quiet village of Heath & Reach, Bedfordshire on the outskirts of the charming market town of Leighton Buzzard and only 40 minutes by train to central London.
Our privately owned, traditional country Inn has 16 large, comfortable en suite guest rooms, restaurant and a cosy wooden-beamed bar with open fire.
For the summer months enjoy a cool drink in our pretty courtyard garden. ***NEW FOR 2021*** We have a beautiful new raised decked beer and food garden.
In our bar and restaurant we serve a varied menu of delicious home cooked food including daily specials throughout the year. All our food is prepared by our fantastic French Head Chef using fresh and locally sourced, high quality produce and he will often add varied seasonal specials including French delicacies and British classics – See our menu here.
On a Sunday enjoy our traditional Sunday Roast served from 12 noon until 5pm.
In our charming rustic bar we serve some excellent cask ales along with a selection of craft beers and quality wines. You will also find some superb live music evenings here throughout the year. Check our events page further details.

I've used their function room to celebrate my birthday. It was fantastic. They took custom requests, everything was well organised, and food was great. Thank you for making it a great event. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to do an event.
I would like to support little local business, but it is difficult then owners not trying to help themselves. Rooms outdated, like black mould on sealant around the bath tab, hot water tap is not possible to adjust in the shower, heating or ventilation not working.
Beautiful establishment. Food is amazing, drinks are just as amazing. They key for the Heath Inn is the service, always presented with a smile, and the staff always pay attention to the customers need. Would absolutely recommend to anyone travelling to the area for a night away or for anyone working locally

The Axe and Compass is a family run pub on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard. We serve great food and real ales. The pub has a huge garden with play area and 8 B&B rooms. Just a short distance from Leighton Buzzard train station and Rushmere country park.
