The Happy Cheese is a friendly family pub, serving food all day. Just a stone's throw away from Ashurst train station and just over the bridge from the Ashurst Campsite. There is an entrance to the beautiful New Forest next to the rear of our large car park.
Enjoy our comfy pub with brilliant food and service. We are dog friendly with a kid's play area. Our brilliant chef serves his own homemade specials. Open for breakfast from 10am (spring and summer) food served until 9pm daily.

A family birthday meal. 15 of us in total all had main meals. With no complaints what so ever. The food all came out as ordered. Which can be tricky with such a big group. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure are evening went with out any issues and the food was well presented good quality and very Tasty. 10/10. Can highly recommend especially if your looking for large group booking. Many Thanks to all the staff on duty 23/10/23
Decent place for pub grub. We had a selection of very nice sandwiches. Service was welcoming and quick.
Enjoyed our visit on a recent holiday, it was quiz night (Wednesday) so it was packed out and very noisy but food arrived pretty quickly and was good quality. Order at the bar or via QR code at the table — worked fine, but would prefer the personal touch of table service.
Nice food served here we stopped by, didn’t planned, during half therm, nice outside with playground for kids to play while waiting for food to be served. We had burgers with fries 🍟, nice fresh pub food, burgers nicely seasoned. also ice cream parlour served inside. also parking in front of the pub.
