This iconic, award-winning Brighton institution, famed for its tiny bar and tower brewery is a favourite for musicians, writers, creatives, beer lovers and toad players; but above all, it’s a community hub.
Nestled in Kemp Town, a street North of the upper promenade (Marine Parade), guests squeeze in and become friends to the soundtrack of Ethiopian jazz, Welsh Indie and everything in-between. Live jazz has been played at the Hand on Sundays for over 15 years and it gets busy, so get in early to grab a seat in the booth, on the pew or at the bar.
An eclectic range of DJs make most Saturday nights bounce, and the last Sunday of every month is Spun Out - a whole day of open decks, where DJs get an hour to spin their favourite tunes. Keep your eye on our socials for our calendar of other interesting and unique events.
Award-winning Hand Brew Co beers are on tap with a range of guest ales, ciders, wines and spirits. Vegan, gluten free and nolo options are available. English Tapas is always stocked (crisps and nuts), and customers are welcome to choose from the many excellent local restaurants for delivery to the pub.

Lovely little bar, I've been wanting to go for ages! Irrespective of the recommendation I was given a warm welcome and a very good selection of (mainly German) beers to choose from. Plus they had Toads! If you know, you know...
Good beer and vibes, odd and kooky but in an unthreatening way There is not a lot of space: you may end up on the pavement, which I don't love However, this is my pal Watto's favourite pub, and he's a five star guy, so this place gets 5*
In many other places this is the sort of pub that would be the highlight of a pub crawl. Here it's just another excellent pub close to other excellent pubs in a city seemingly full of them , if I lived here I would have problems! This is a small cozy slightly dark, heavenly non macro beer range, and friendly everyone. Hard to leave...
Fun bar with a nice atmosphere and brilliantly unique interior. Very good beers on offer! Loved it.
A great small bar that is fantastic for beer lovers as they serve a large range of beers most of which they need themselves. We went a week before Christmas, and the bar man was being very strict on covid measures which worked for me, and we chatted happily about the beers.

Our pub is tiny, so cooking and serving food is difficult. However, all our guests are welcome to order from the vast array of excellent local restaurants on the usual food-delivery apps. If required, we can supply cutlery and crockery.
