About us

The Wellington Arms is a beautifully refurbished pub, hotel and functions venue, located within the stunning Wellington Estate in Hampshire, off the A33 near Hook, Basingstoke and Reading.

Now part of the award-winning Grosvenor Pubs and Inns family, The Wellington Arms faced an extensive 12-month refurb and re-opened its doors in November 2018, as a family-friendly venue for all to enjoy. With a relaxed bar and pub restaurant offering seasonal menus and daily specials, a beautiful spacious function suite for weddings and events, and 25 stunning bedrooms, the 18th century building offers an ideal venue, no matter what the occasion.

We are dedicated to sourcing from local suppliers; from prime cuts of meat from British farmers, to craft ales from local breweries, including our own microbrewery in Surrey. We believe in using only sustainable ingredients that have travelled as little distance as possible to reach our pub kitchens, to guarantee the best flavours and quality.

Best lunch ever. Stopped by mistake on a Sunday afternoon. Asked if they have a table available and stayed for lunch. Oh, what a great choice. Best Sunday roast I ever had and reasonable priced. Just great

I can't rate the rooms as we just stopped for food and a bathroom break after being stuck in traffic for 1,5 hrs. Apart from my friend's Jamaican chicken burger, this is hands down, the best chicken burger I've ever eaten. The chicken melted in your mouth and the seasoning was spot on. Amazing and very good price too!!!

Faultless service. Went for Xmas lunch for an NCT reunion - 8 couples and 8 babies. The service was fantastic and, despite the carnage of that many people and babies in one room, couldn’t be faulted. Any issues were rectified immediately and the patience displayed was endless. Thank you to those on this afternoon for what will hopefully be a regular occasion! We are all very grateful to you.

I went a few weeks back with my family for my brother’s birthday meal on a Wednesday evening and we were served by ‘Eva’ who was so lovely and helpful! She was very prompt on serving us and made sure we always had everything we needed! And gave us great recommendations from the specials menu - thank you Eva !

Had our office Christmas lunch here. The food was superb and the building is amazing. It's in a beautiful countryside location with loads of seating inside. Great range of beers and the staff were very friendly. The only issue I had was the veg and potatoes served would be too much for 1 but nowhere near enough for 3! Plus our gravy came 5-10 minutes after the food. To be clear it's the first a la carte Christmas dinner I've had and it was very tasty. But Christmas Dinner tends to be a more voluminous event. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay there but it looks very nice.
