About us

It's owner is someone who has spent their entire adult life on this circuit and has carefully recruited a team which both respects and supports his vision. On top of still being relatively new, the H & A also offers the most value for money, with free entry for every Club Night, premium drinks at reasonable prices and music consistently excellent and varied for the occasion ranging from Classic Rock to 80's Glam Nights, 90's Nostalgia, Cranium Crunching Anthems of the Modern Era & even Power-Metal Nights which specialise in European & Symphonic Metal.

It's Resident Music Spinner known as DJ Yentonian is also a specialist in his field who also currently presents for Hard Rock Hell Radio (and before this also TBFM) as a result of which, keeps up to date with current tours, new tunes and re-mastered re-releases which are added to the setlists for your listening pleasure. 2018 is a big year for the Hammer & the Anvil. Becoming Birmingham's home for Bloodstock Festival's 'Metal to the Masses' tournament in 2018, other major plans in the pipeline, which will place the venue a galaxy ahead of it's competitors. Until then, Stay Tuned, Stay Real & stay Metal.

My first experience in a sports bar did not disappoint! Lovely atmosphere, the bartender was very friendly. When I told her that I did not drink alcohol, she gave me several options from their non alcoholic range. Will definitely visit again

Great place for a pint and watch whatever sport is on. Friendly service, beer incredibly cheap (£3.75 for a pint of staropramen), basic decor but who cares when you can just chill out after a day at work.

Very nice little pub , on 2 floors but during the day only the ground floor open . £2.75 for a pint of carling , so quite reasonable. Children are allowed in during the day as quite quiet. Easy access for disabled .

First time here for a psy trance late night event. The staff are very friendly and quick to serve at the bar but that's likely due to the fact 90% of people are dancing.
