We hosted my Dad's 80th birthday party at the Grim's Dyke Hotel on Saturday night for 40 people. It was a fantastic experience. The staff were very helpful, the sit down dinner was delicious and the room and hotel grounds in particular are very grand and impressive. An excellent venue if you want to celebrate a special occasion.

What an absolutely delightful stay at this wonderful old house. The last time I stayed was over 17 years ago, this was under previous management, however in relation to how it was then to how it is now was only a matter of a few layout changes, everything else remained the same. We ate at the hotel, our evening meal was sublime and one of the best we have had in a while. We also had breakfast and that too was excellent, highly recommended. The staff were all attentive and could not do enough! Should you want a peaceful stay in an amazing location with grounds to walk around I can highly recommend staying (Just in the weekend we don't book in the future of course 🙂). Thank you.

Can't beat this place for a special occasion. We were married here 25 years ago and returned for our silver anniversary. The building and grounds are fantastic being historic, interesting and well maintained. The staff are attentive, friendly, professional and not constantly pushing for sales of extra drinks or side dishes. The food is first class and generously proportioned. For our occasion we hired the drawing room for 21 guests and everyone present had a great time. Our host, Richard, was very helpful and gave us welcome suggestions about how to proceed with the occasion. We hope to return for future celebrations.

Staff friendly and helpful. Good reception staff. Lots of parking in various spots. Main house which is amazing and historical. Lots of interesting history. We had booked a lodge room away from the main house which had it's own parking spaces. There is no lift to the second floor however they did offer to help to bring our suitcase up to the room. The room was clean and comfortable. Quite spacious. We had lovely balcony with orchard view. Very tranquil. Breakfast was in the restaurant area and was excellent. Staff were friendly and professional in the restaurant at breakfast. Lovely trails for walking around the woods and lakes. Ask for a map at reception for the walks as not that well sign posted unfortunately. Trails for walking are very natural and sometimes difficult to navigate if not very able. Although the manicured areas are beautiful and restful.

This an entrancing, deeply atmospheric, mysterious, charming and entrancing place. It's absolutely fascinating inside and it's so enjoyable to relax in the bar or have a look around. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, really peaceful and almost ethereal. I've not yet discovered all the wooded areas, there is a lot to explore, including a pond with a historical event, in fact the whole history of the building is very interesting. Added to this is the fact that the staff are excellent; efficient, polite and friendly. And the food is very good indeed, I had fish and chips on my most recent visit which was absolutely superb quality. A fantastic place.
